Ignoring my title of this post first, I am going to talk about my work life. Other than the fact that it is absolutely boring to the core, I guess everything else about it has been great. I have sort of gotten used to waking up early and taking a packed train to Tanjong Pagar every morning. Although the lazy me always take a near empty train to Pasir Ris from Simei and then to Tanjong Pagar just for a precious seat lol. I have gotten used to only having around 3 hours of free time a day before I have to go to sleep and repeat the whole cycle again. I guess the one bright spot of my work life has to be the food during lunch time.
Compared to the choices I had during recess in MJC, I can be said to be in food paradise now. With Maxwell food centre and Chinatown complex food centre a 5 min stone throw away, the combination and permutations of food I can eat now is almost infinity. And that is not even counting the nearby Tanjong Pagar food market and the other hawker centres and restaurants near my workplace!
The most important thing is that the quality of food there are all so so so so so so much better than those in MJC(some are much cheaper than those in MJC as well!). Only the Malay Rice stall can be comparable to them I guess, but even so it will still not be better lol. Just thinking of the famous nasi lemak, extra thick soya bean, super tasty fish soup noodles and etc is enough to make me look forward to work now lol (actually not to such a strong extent lah but you get what I mean lol)
And right now for dinner...I am eating the famous Steve Tee home cooked Maggie Mee! Haha! Anyway I realised that in order to save up enough money to achieve my goal, eating dinner at home is a much cheaper choice albeit not a very healthy one. Anyway back to the point, my work now is back to calling rich people on the phone and asking if they wish to renew their membership.
At first, it was nervous then tiring then nervous again and now it is just downright boring lol. My problem of speaking too fast occurred again for first few phone calls but now I have become used to it that I am speaking slower than usual. So despite it being boring, at least it helped to raise my confidence when talking to others on the phone. So now, I can say I somehow like my job plus my colleagues are all very nice people ^^
One of my colleague even recommended a tutiton job during the weekends to me. It involves teaching a sec 3 thai student (who is so rich that his family own 10 cars) english, math and science. Truthfully, I cant remember anything about what sec 3 teaches haha so hopefully it wont be that hard. Anyway pls let me get the job lol I need the money!! So dear dont worry k I will do everything I can to make You feel that Your future is secure with me. I hope it dont clash with our date every weekend but if it does I apologise to You first k. I love You no matter what dear ^^
Omg I typed so long le still haven even reached my topic of this post. Philosophy! Philosophy is defined as the rational investigation of questions about existence and knowledge and ethics.
So due to my extra long trip to Tanjong Pagar(TP) every day, I have begun to borrow books from the library to read on the train. One of the first book I read was "The Pig that wants to be eaten". It may sound like a funny title but the content is really intriguing and enticing for me at least. And this is what started my interest in it. But like what the book wrote, Philosophy is something you either feel is interesting or just utter nonsence.
So for me it is the former. After all, the question I had in my mind since young was why do we live? We study till our twenties, work till we age and eventually die...and there is almost no purpose in it other than to find someone we love and carry on the generation...is that why we live? Haha I guess everyone have their own answer to that.
Anyway this post is getting super long, shall continue my philosophical talk the next time so I shall end it here le. Before I go, I shall put a "famous" quote I read in one of my non philosophical books.
"It is white"
President George W. Bush describing the White House...
"Our love make every thing I do feel worthwhile..."
